For my upcoming pitch this week, I want to have a rough idea of what my products tagline should be. This will make my product mission more clear.
Be clear
The audience should know what the product aims to do from the tagline. Often, people try to overthink and complicate this step and the tagline doesn’t do it’s job.
Make it memorable
One way to make a tagline memorable is to address your users pain points. They are more likely to remember it this way as you are solving a problem for them. Even if they don’t remember it word for word, they should remember what your brand is offering them.
Stand out
What is your unique selling point that is different from other products?
Make it compliment your product name
The name and the tagline will often be sitting next to each other. Therefore, try to create a rhythm between the name and the tagline. For example, if you have a short brand name, try to make the tagline longer, visa versa.
After writing my proposal document for this project, I have a good idea of what my brand mission is. This sets a good foundation for my tagline and how I want the product to be viewed. I decided to do a mind map to get ideas flowing:
“Helping children become passionate, confident readers”
