Children's Reading Habits Survey

Originally, I was just going to survey parents. However, I feel that teachers can offer a unique perspective as they interact with many children everyday. I made sure to ask how long they have been teaching as those who have been teaching for many years will see how children’s reading habits have changed.

Objectives

• Find out if there is a decrease in reading ability.
• Find out what the most common problems are when it comes to reading.
• See what teachers think is having a negative impact on reading.
• See if digital books are being used in the classroom and whether or not they are useful.

Good afternoon,

My name is Lauren Gilmore and I am in my final year of studying Digital Design at Ulster University. As part of my final project, I am designing an application for a book subscription service for children. Therefore, I want to gather research on children’s reading habits in school.

I have created a survey aimed at primary school teachers and would greatly appreciate it if this survey could be completed by some of your teachers. It would only take a few minutes to fill out and the information would be very beneficial for me. I am aware that teachers have a very busy schedule so if this is not possible, I understand.
